Animals for BLUE families

Blue families are often first time animal owners. They have limited time or ability to train and exercise their animal, and want a low maintenance relationship. They may or may not have young children.

Animals for GREEN families

Green families are happy to live with animals that like a bit of action, but also like to relax and chill out with their animal. They are amenable to putting in some training and extra time in the early partnership to establish the household rules. They enjoy getting out each day taking their animals for walks.

Animals for ORANGE families

Orange families have a passion for animals - they could be animal trainers or are animal training enthusiasts with a library of animal books they read. They have enough time to enjoy daily walks, games and training with their animals. They put their animals to work via mental stimulation when left home alone for long periods.

My video:
A little about me:

Woof, my name is Lilly and as you can see I am the cutest little Jack Russell.  My foster carer thinks my freckles make me look like a little cheeky teenager.  I am so care free, nothing worries me.  I'm just always a happy little girl and I love playing with kids and running around with other dogs, love walks, love car rides, love toys, love food, love company and affection, love to sleep on your bed if you let me and I LOVE SWIMMING! Summer is just the best time as I can swim all day in my little pool.  It's just the best thing to have a run around the back yard at full pelt and then dive into the little shell pool to cool off. I have even been known to do backstroke.

What sort of home would suit me:

Most homes would suit me, as long as I get plenty of interaction and toys and affection I'm happy.

Fencing type I need:

I don't dig under fences but if you left a gate open I'm off flying like the wind and kicking up my heels.  Although I generally respond well to my name if I do slip out the gate or door then the joy of running and the chase is just too irresistible.

My time requirements:

I love company so I would not be happy being left out in the backyard by myself all the time.  My foster family is away during the day and I'm fine outside then but when you are home I love to spend time with you inside just enjoying your company (I'm toilet trained and can use a doggy door).

How I feel about kids:

The more kids the merrier - young or old.

Amount of exercise I need:

I'm an energetic little girl so an active family or family dog that I can play with would be great.  If I was in a home without other dogs or kids then a daily walk and/or interactive play in the backyard would keep me fit and happy.

My grooming needs:

Not much as I'm very low maintenance but a bath every now and then would be good.

My thoughts on other animals:

I love playing with other dogs.  I do rev them up as I enjoy a rough and tumble, tug o war and chasey around the yard.  I recently spent the weekend with a 5 month German Shepherd pup.  He was a bit shy to begin with but I taught him to play tug o war. I started off being about to pull him around the back yard but then he got the hang of it and it was me being dragged around.  I was able to run rings around him playing chasey and when it got a bit hot I jumped in the pool - only problem was he wanted to join me and there just wasn't enough room for two water babes.  I'm not sure about cats or other pocket pets as I haven't been around them while in foster care.

My other requirements:

I require daily exercise and TLC

Stories from the Foster Carer:

Lilly is just the sweetest little dog.  She gets on well with everyone; 2 & 4 legged.  Life is always good for her, she has a lovely disposition and heaps of character.  She is a very easy little dog to care for as she is just always smiling :)
