Animals for BLUE families

Blue families are often first time animal owners. They have limited time or ability to train and exercise their animal, and want a low maintenance relationship. They may or may not have young children.

Animals for GREEN families

Green families are happy to live with animals that like a bit of action, but also like to relax and chill out with their animal. They are amenable to putting in some training and extra time in the early partnership to establish the household rules. They enjoy getting out each day taking their animals for walks.

Animals for ORANGE families

Orange families have a passion for animals - they could be animal trainers or are animal training enthusiasts with a library of animal books they read. They have enough time to enjoy daily walks, games and training with their animals. They put their animals to work via mental stimulation when left home alone for long periods.

My video:
A little about me:

A beautiful lady who's main aim in life is to love and be loved. After a bad start in life I am now happy and becoming more confident. I love to be with my family especially cuddles on the lounge. I am good in the car on trips. I bark when a stranger comes and will guard my property and my family but settle when told its ok. I am  house trained and sleep inside. When I have done something I think is wrong or think I am in trouble I lift my lip in a little apologetic smile. I do not mind humans taking food off me even out of my mouth and sit and wait quietly to be given my food. I love to play soccer with the kids, chase balls-sticks, play hide and seek and love to swim.

What sort of home would suit me:

I need a special family who are prepared to devote time and attention to me as I am learning to trust humans again. I would also love lots of hugs please.

Fencing type I need:

I need a high fence with no gaps as I love my humans and want to go everywhere with them and try to follow.

My time requirements:

I need as much time as you can give me to keep me becoming the wonderful confident dog I should be, along with a few hours a week in training, play and care and oodles of love and hugs.

How I feel about kids:

I love kids and a special little human friend to play chase and tug-o-war with would be wonderful.

Amount of exercise I need:

I will need a decent 20-30 minute walk  at least 5 out of 7 days a week or I love to chase a ball and play chase with anyone available and love a good tug-o-war. I will bring you my toy and let you know when I would like to play.

My grooming needs:

I will only need 1 quick brush a week and a bath occasionally to keep me smelling sweet and my white parts bright.

My thoughts on other animals:

I get on well with dogs once I get to know them but I am not so sure of strange dogs and can be a little aggressive out of insecurity. I sometimes chase birds in the yard as this is how I used to feed myself to stay alive but my Foster Mum says I shouldn't do this anymore so I don't do it very often now and I never go near her parrots. I am not particulaly interested in the sheep but chase the rabbits that come into the yard. Not sure about cats as we do not have one, (seems to be ok unless they run).

My other requirements:

I still need a lot of socializing. I need lots of love and cuddles to reassure me that I am ok. Sits  back and waits for her food but does not like other dogs to go near it. Humans can take food from her mouth no problems. Needs to be kept on a short lead around strange dogs.

Stories from the Foster Carer:

We adore Sheeba and her funny little ways. She came to us with a lot of fear and hang ups but with lots of love has come out of her shell  to show us the great dog she is. She is great on the lead and loves walks around the farm and town. She loves to play chase in the garden with the kids when it cools down at night as well as pouncing on the crickets in the lawn and has just learnt to swim as she did not know how, when we took her to the river she retrieved a stick and brought it back to us walking under the water instead of swimming thankfully she had her harness on so we could pull her up. She has a habit of bringing us little gifts usually a sock from the laundry or clothes someone has left behind, she often brings her food dish in and gives it to you hoping you will fill it up again for her and when she feels she is in trouble she gives you an apologetic little smile.

Some likes:

Attention and praise, lots of love, cuddles and reassurance, belly rubs, playing with doggy and human friends, walks on the lead, drives in the car.

Commands learnt:

Sit,wait for dinner, comes immediately when called, knows no, and has learnt "in the back" when getting in the car. Has learnt to drop with a food reward. knows wat naughty girl means.
