Animals for BLUE families
Blue families are often first time animal owners. They have limited time or ability to train and exercise their animal, and want a low maintenance relationship. They may or may not have young children.
Animals for GREEN families
Green families are happy to live with animals that like a bit of action, but also like to relax and chill out with their animal. They are amenable to putting in some training and extra time in the early partnership to establish the household rules. They enjoy getting out each day taking their animals for walks.
Animals for ORANGE families
Orange families have a passion for animals - they could be animal trainers or are animal training enthusiasts with a library of animal books they read. They have enough time to enjoy daily walks, games and training with their animals. They put their animals to work via mental stimulation when left home alone for long periods.

Bindii is a beautiful girl who is full of energy and loves to play and be involved in anything you are doing. She is full of personality and just loves to play in water, swimming in the river, playing in her shell pool or playing under the hose... Bindii will follow you around and try to be involved in everything you are doing. She also loves to chase and will be over the moon if you throw a ball for her. She brings it back and is learning to drop it for you. She also loves a game of soccer.
Bindii is fun loving gal and loves to be involved in everything. She would be suited to an active famiily or a single person who loves to take her for a walk. A home with older children (10+) would give her that bit of extra activity that she loves and she would just get involved with anything the kids are doing. She thrives on activity and wants to be someone’s best mate. She is an inside / outside girl and is toilet trained and quickly learnt how to use a doggy door. Bindii would love to go for drives in the car with you, and go for walk whenever possible. Bindii loves toys to play with and play ball. A home with other dogs to keep Bindii company would be fine, however she is quite playful so wouldn't suit every dog.
Bindii does not try and esacape and is happy to amuse herself in the backyard if you are out. Like any dog she would need a secure fence with no holes to slip through. Although she has a good jump on her she hasn't tried to jump over low fences.
Bindii would love to spend as much time as possible with an active family or owner. She just wants to see what you are doing, try and help you, and be around you. If she were allowed in the house she would just be in heaven. Bindii travels well in the car and currently gets to go for drives to the river to have a swim which she just loves.
Bindii loves children but does jump up. She is currently being taught to be a really good girl and not jump so much and has improved 95% compared to when she first came into foster care. She is just so happy to meet you when you get home or to meet new people that she forgets she is not supposed to jump but is learning quickly that it is not acceptable. Because she can get over excited she would be better suited to older children (over 10) who wouldn't 'rev' her up.
Currently Bindii gets to go for a big jog each day for a few kilometers with her current foster carers which she just loves. Bindii wears a harness and walks and runs beside very well. Bindii also loves to swim in the river and also play in her shell pool... Bindii is a real water dog, she even jumps hoops through the water hose when it is on.
Pretty much Bindii's coat takes care of itself.
True to the nature of Jack Russell's Bindii will chase anything that moves, so best to keep her playmates to other dogs and humans. She would not be suited to a family with a cat as she would be much too interested in chasing it. Bindii would be fine being an only dog and although she gets on well with other dogs she may have too much energy for some individual dogs.
Bindii will need initial ongoing training, she is an intelligent little dog and has responded well to boundries set for her in foster care. Prior to coming into foster care Bindii had been allowed to get away with cheeky behaviour but has quickly learnt she is "NOT the leader of the pack". She has responded well now that she has a routine and she understands "No" when told.
Bindii absolutely loves water and bathtime will be fun for her. She loves to jump in a tub outside after a run around the yard or a game of fetch. If you turn the hose on she just loves to chase the water and have a good drenching and its an easy way to clean her! The first thing she does when you get home after work is to go and stand by the hose with a pleading look as she would love a good soaking. Check her video (attached).
Bindii is a very affectionate little dog, she loves to follow you around and see what you're up to.
Toys!! Bindii has a toy bin and at the end of each day her toys are scattered about the back yard. Her favourite is plastic soft drink bottles which she can crunch on, the stuffing doesn't last long in soft toys but the emptied leftover material is just as good. She loves rope toys, balls, chew toys anything!!
No, Sit - she is a great little sitter - drops onto her bottom at the slightest indication of a treat reward : ) Bindii sits before being fed and waits until she is told to eat. She is very responsive to her name.
